How the circle moves

Six movements, one covering.

The circle does not move her through stations. It forms around her, draws close, covers her at the center, and keeps carrying her after the room goes quiet.

We Gather Around Her

The circle forms before a word is spoken. Soft worship fills the room as women arrive, each one welcomed by name and met without hurry. She comes as she is, and that alone is enough to belong here.

We Speak the Names We Carry

One by one, we lift the women we hold: those in fertility, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, perimenopause, and menopause, and the doulas, midwives, assistants, OB-GYNs, lactation consultants, and perinatal mental health specialists who tend to them. Every name is spoken into the circle. No one is carried alone.

We Make Room for Her Voice

The circle grows quiet and turns toward her. She names what weighs on her and who she longs to see covered, whether herself, another woman, or a birth worker beside her. She may speak, or simply be prayed over in stillness. Her presence is her offering.

We CoverHER in Prayer The Heart

This is the heart of the night. We pray over the circle by name, lifting each woman in her season and every hand that holds her. This is the covering CoverHER is named for.

We Speak a Blessing Over Her

A word of Scripture or blessing is spoken over her, something to carry into the week and return to when the days press in.

We Carry Her Through the Week

The circle does not close when the room does. Her requests are carried into the CoverHER prayer line, held in prayer until we gather again next Thursday at 8:00 PM. She leaves covered, and stays covered.

Who we cover

The whole birth space, held together.

CoverHER lifts the woman and the ones who tend to her in the same breath. No one in the room is prayed for alone.
